A question has arisen by potential clients that I want to clarify to avoid any confusion. Clients who haven’t informed the building management or the superintendent about the work being done often ask us if we can still install the wall and say it’s furniture or some other delivery.

I want to be clear that UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES will 1DayWall install a wall without first getting permission to do so from the building management/owner of the building/superintendent. We will gladly help you with any issues like the one above, or anything else in regard to an installation. Please feel free to contact us.

What our clients also need to know is that permission to do an installation by the owner OF THE CONDO is not acceptable. Permission MUST come from the building management.

The normal build of our Temporary walls makes them quite noise resistant. If additional soundproofing is necessary, we can accommodate you. Please inquire.

Your Temporary Wall will be painted flat white using Benjamin Moore Super Hide paint. If the customer desires a custom color (anything other than the Benjamin Moore flat white) it will be considered a custom job with an additional charge.

Room preparation: In order for our mechanics to have enough room to properly install and paint a temporary wall, it is the responsibility of the customer to have a minimum 4-foot clearance on each side of the wall being installed. That includes removing any furniture, tables, desks, floor lamps, pianos, cabinets and any other objects of a similar nature that are within a space of 4-feet from the wall to be installed. Permanent objects, e.g. beams, are not the responsibility of the customer. Please note that if it is necessary for the mechanics to move anything, even a small piece of furniture for the 4-foot clearance they need, there will be a minimum charge of $75.

A temporary wall is a room divider that partitions a room into sections. The temporary walls appear to be real walls. They allow for more privacy than you would have without them. They are installed in a way that there are no damages done to the room where they are placed. A temporary wall is not permanently attached to the floor or ceiling, and upon removal leaves no evidence that a wall was ever there. Their build is identical to that of a permanent wall, and they usually take several hours to install.

It depends how big the job is, but typically a standard 8×12 wall or bookcase will take four hours to complete with paint.

The wall is secured with pressure and metal track so there is no need for screws or fasteners. On rare occasions it is necessary to attach the temporary wall to the existing wall with screws for safety purposes. Upon removal our experts will insure there will be no evidence that a wall was ever there.

Yes, the walls are designed to look like part of the room. All of the materials used are the same as those used for interior work, metal framing, drywall, doors, and wood trim, and are of the highest quality. In the photos, you see two types of temporary walls: One of them is marked traditional temporary wall and the other is marked seamless wall.

Yes, at an additional charge we can tape and compound the seams for a seamless finish. See the photo on the right is the question above.

The walls are 4.75 inches thick. They can be built 3 inches wide upon request.

Yes, you can hang up to 30 pounds on our temporary walls. This would include light objects like small mirrors and pictures, but not heavy objects like bookshelves and/or flat screen TV’s. We can reinforce a specific area on the wall so you can hang heavy objects. Please let us know before the installation.

Our skilled craftsmen can accommodate any shape or size wall that you need. We can build walls to any ceiling height.

The wall is not a lease and can be removed for a one-time fee of $350 plus tax. Funds must be Certified only, no cash or personal checks. Please note: We require at least 4 weeks’ notice before removal of your wall. There will be an additional $350 charge if notified less than 4 weeks, before the wall needs to be removed.

This is a question that 1DayWall often hears, and we have several good solutions: You can circulate warm or cool air from one room to another by using a Room Fan of 7-5/8″. Equipped with a 2-speed option, this fan allows you to adjust the air, transferring air to quickly change or maintain temperatures in adjoining rooms. The fan’s grille can be painted to match your interior style.




If you don’t think a fan is necessary, you can use ventilation grills, which will also work well for air circulation between adjoining rooms.
